Sara, Your question about Indian film stars raises an interesting question. Basically, all of the film stars, male and female, are incredibly fair-skinned, almost as fair as a European person. And they mostly hail from north India. Aishwarya Rai, for instance, is from Nepal originally. There are lots of browner stars in the southern states that make movies in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, but they don't have national prominence and I couldn't name one of them. Indians prize fair skin and unless you're in the deep south there is a fairly strong connection between skin color and social status. The lowest/poorest tend to be the brownest. Of course, there are lots of exceptions, but there is still a strong correlation. So, it's no surprise that the celebrities are all fair-skinned. I have a friend who is a total nut for Bollywood, so I'll send her a message and see if she can think of ANY Bollywood star with a hint of brown for your little girl.
