[ichild] Color consciousness

My daughter, from Northern India, has a fair complexion compared toher Indian friends. I was quite taken aback one day when we had anlong-awaited visit to an NRI friend and her daughters in the middle ofsummer a few years ago -- we walked in the door and the first thingthe mom said to me was "Oh, I see you let her play outside in thesun!" Yes, my daughter was getting a lot of sun (with SUNSCREEN ofcourse) in her daycamps and had turned a lovely walnut brown. Clearly, this was not a positive change according to my friend.
